Vietnamese company donates to support Matanzas

Thai Binh Global Investment Corporation’s branch in Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM) delivered a donation to contribute to the recovery efforts of the Matanzas Industrial Zone and support those affected by the fire.

Déborah Rivas Saavedra, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, thanked Thai Binh on behalf of the Government, Party, and Cuban people for the donation of $100,000 USD; 53,000 diapers, and foodssuch as milk, rice, and fruit juices.

She also emphasized the offers of help received from multiple institutions such as the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam Women’s Union.

She said: “We also appreciate the efforts of Vietnamese alumnis who together with the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association launched the Campaign to support Cuba and raised more than 40 thousand dollars in one week.”

The event was chaired by Le Thanh Tung, ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Cuba, Vi Nguyen Phuong, general director of the company branch in ZEDM, along with other officials and directors of Thai Binh Global Investment Corporation and Thai Binh Green Power Investment Corporation.

Tran Thien Minh, representative of Thai Binh, assured that the years of work on the island are the sample of the constant cooporations between the two nations, always with the vision of contributing to the development of Cuban economic and social.

“We hope that this gesture will help strengthen our brotherhood and improve the current complicated situation, and we firmly believe that we will get through this,” he said.
